The most notable of these include the Botanical Gardens at Asheville- a fabulous non –profit organization that boasts ten acres of native plants; The Blue Ridge Parkway- a scenic route located in the Blue Ridge part of the Appalachian Mountains.  The entire drive is a total of 469 miles that stretches from Virginia to North Carolina; The Smith-McDowell House Museum- Asheville’s oldest mansion is now turned into a stately museum.  With four stories, the house was built prior to the Civil War and remains one of Asheville’s top tourist attractions.

Today, Asheville continues to be a thriving and prosperous city.  It has been honored to be one of America’s Top 25 Arts Destinations and was named by the AARP Magazine as one of the Best Places to Reinvent Your Life.
